As part of the district adoption process for K-5 Science curriculum, there will be a K-5 Science Adoption Curriculum Materials Informational Parent Night held on March 20 from 7:00-8:00 in the Board Room. The materials are Amplify Science and Building Blocks of Science. The materials are currently being piloted by the K-5 Science Committee and NGSS Learning Cohort teachers across LWSD elementary schools. Parents who have students in piloting classrooms have received information about the curriculum already from their classroom teacher.

This evening will provide parents and the community with information about the process of the adoption committee’s work as well as provide an opportunity for those in attendance to preview and provide feedback about the two finalist curriculum materials. We will also directly email all elementary parents with information about the curricula and ask for their input in an online survey.
