With summer days coming to an end, we would like to remind student to turn in their Summer Reading Postcards by Friday, September 21st. Postcards are available at the Horace Mann Library or you can print your postcards from home using the attachment.
Participating is easy....while your child reads to you, complete the postcard and on the bottom of each postcard, please comment on how your child has improved from one reading to the next. After completing the postcards, drop them by the library or, hand them in to your classroom teacher.
Summer Reading Postcards will be on display in the hallway leading to the Commons during the month of September and students who participate will be recognized with a certificate and celebrate with a special party, complete with a prize drawing, popcorn, and a free book for all participants. We will also award two lucky winners who submitted a shelfie and book review on the Colt Readers Blog during the summer months (June-August) a $25.00 shopping spree at the Scholastic Book Fair. To check out our blog and for additional reading resources, click on the following link http://skleonard.edublogs.org. We are encouraging all the Horace Mann students to participate and will have a school wide read-in with a homework free night, when we reach our goal of 150 participants. Keep reading and turning in those postcards!
Thank you in advance for supporting literacy learning all year long.
