AccountWelcome to a new year of music at Horace Mann! In music class, students will explore, create, sing, play, improvise, and listen. Music is a special place where we learn by doing—together.
Singing, movement, and playful song games with small instruments.
Building rhythm and singing skills with classroom instruments.
Begin recorder study (continues through 5th grade).
Learn the ukulele.
Learn guitar.
Units on recorder, ukulele, guitar, xylophones, and drums.
Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are invited to join Choir!
Choir begins later in September and meets on Wednesday mornings before school. It's a wonderful way to sing, perform, and grow together as musicians.
While our general music program does not teach orchestra or band instruments, these are offered through the PTSA enrichment program for families who are interested.
