Harvest Parties & Parade
Date:
Friday, October 31
On Friday, 10/31, we will celebrate the season with Harvest Parties and a Costume Parade. This is a fun time for everyone to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, the crisp air, costumes and treats.
Thank you in advance if you have already volunteered to help in your student’s classroom for the party. Please remember you must be a LWSD approved volunteer. To fill out the LWSD volunteer application, please click here and allow at least 1 week for your application to be approved. To check your volunteer status, you can log into the Raptor Volunteer Portal or email volunteers@lwsd.org. Feel free to come in costume, if you would like, but please note the costume guidelines outlined at the end of this message. While we would love to be able to accommodate younger siblings, unfortunately we are not able to do so. As our Mann Handbook states on page 8, we ask you to refrain from bringing others with you during volunteer hours. This guideline is not just for Harvest Parties, but for all other volunteering opportunities as well. Thank you in advance for finding other arrangements for your small children. The costume parade will begin at approximately 3:40pm. We ask that all parents, family and community members who would like to view the parade line up behind the stanchions / roped off area in the lobby of the school. We ask that you do not park in the fire lane in front of the school when arriving for your student’s party. Finally, just a few reminders about costumes: • Costumes must be school appropriate (no “scary” costumes) • No make-up, masks or hair paint • No weapons (real or pretend), fake blood or other violent imagery • All costumes must be worn over school clothes (unless otherwise directed by the teacher). Students should come to school dressed in their regular street clothes and then will put on their costumes just before the parade. • School dress code does apply ics:
